Meet Gregg Champion - Visionary & Entrepreneur

Meet Gregg, visionary and co-founder of Start Up Recovery, a unique transformational living center in Pacific Palisades. We were lucky enough to use one of his breathtaking Start Up Recovery estates high up on the hill overlooking the ocean for our recent photoshoot. Gregg's energy and passion for doing what he loves made him the perfect model for our new line of men's sweaters. 

Beyond Gregg's passion for his business, his family (wife Jennifer and three daughters) is first and foremost at his heart. We were fortunate to photograph him with his oldest daughter, Elysse, and see the natural chemistry between them.

Gregg Champion, a former branding expert and TEDx speaker, has worked with top consumer brands like Gap, Mattel, and Nike the first 15 years of his career. His focus has been advising and coaching start-up ventures, as well as mentoring college students who are entering the workforce. He has developed a purpose-driven playbook on how to land, keep, and thrive at your dream job. 

Sensing a shift in the economy and media industry, Gregg's intuition told him he needed to pivot. He came up with the mantra "I want to get paid for being me." With his charisma and passion at hand, he had the opportunity to go into drug treatment facilities, sober living centers, and intensive outpatient programs to coach others in his version of recovery. Taking his mentoring skills, personal recovery experience, and business acumen, he was able to translate what worked in business coaching to assist recovering clients beyond getting sober, helping them transform their life and find their passion. 

"Shifting Addiction to Passion" is his company's mission statement. A passionate entrepreneur who's 28 years in recovery himself, Gregg has accumulated "chapters of life experience" to create The Recovery Playbook. This curriculum is used with every client within Start Up's system, within workshops, and even a certification process for those who want to use it in their own practice or business.

His latest venture, Start Up Wellness, is taking his treatment centers to another level with wellness for the mind, body, and soul. The new wellness center in Santa Monica serves as an outpost for recovery patients living at the Start Up Recovery residences, as well as open to the community with membership options. Meditation workshops, acupuncture, sound baths, and bio-hacking technology are just some of the wellness programs now available.
